Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Other DVD features include Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel digital output (a coaxial connection, cable not included) for hookup with a compatible audio/video receiver and speaker system, simulated surround sound through any two speakers, search speeds up to 100x, 10-point bookmarking, and parental lock. The monaural VCR's four-head design ensures smooth slow-motion play (forward and reverse) and clear still-frame images, and the unit records and plays back stereo audio in hi-fi sound. Delivery was just fine but within 2 months the DVD stopped working then a short time later the VCR stopped working. Now know why this product is not available. Will never buy Sylvania again.

The warranty is for 90 days. After about 4 months we started having problems with it, but wasn't terrible. After one year, we are getting rid of it.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS,DVD PLAYING IS CHOPPY AT BEST, DOESNT RESPOND TO THE REMOTE HALF THE TIME,WAY TOO MANY STEPS FOR RECORDING SHOWS AND I THINK THE REMOTE WAS LEFT OVER FROM 1984.
