Works well - knowlegable telephone service September 1, 2010 Maury Weiner (Norwood, MA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got mine from Essex. I especially wanted to dub from tape to DVD. I have also done preset delayed time taping.
I once had a problem with noisy recording. A short call for service gave me the answer. Either there was a bit of dirt left from the refurbishing or I had used a dirty tape. I got a cleaning tape at Walmart and used it, fixing the problem.
The recorder is available at Walmart at a higher price.
So far so good August 29, 2010 Peter Chang 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's easy to use, and it works fine so far (I've copied over 20 VHS, Hi8 and MiniDV tapes). A good deal for the money. Do not know how long will it last.
DVD Recorder August 25, 2010 P. J. Jenson I received the shipment on time and in good condition. I am, however, having trouble having it installed and so have not used it as yet.
Service through your firm, however, was and always has been efficient and dependable.
Can't beat it August 14, 2010 Doyle (DAYTON, OHIO United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just got this refurb model a few days ago and could not be happier. First, I like refurb units because it means someone had a problem with the unit when new, that now has been resolved. The one I got looks like a factory new model. The one touch dubbing is exactly what I was looking for. I have a lot of old home movies, TV shows, etc... on VHS. I pop in the tape, pop in the DVD ( I use DVD RW but this unit does R+ and R- as well)hit the dubbing button and come back in a few hours. The DVD copy actually looks cleaner than the VHS original. The DVD RW plays in every DVD player I've tried. I think the compatability problems others have talked about is because they didn't finalize the disc. With the DVD RW you don't have to finalize, with other formats you do. I got this unit for under $70 including shipping. The exact unit at a nearby store sells for $149. This is a solid machine that performs just as stated. I think you'll be happy with it.
Magnavox ZV427MG9 DVD Recorder/4-Head H/F VCR July 9, 2010 Stephon E. Garrison 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had to purchase a RF modulator ($20)before I could use this device. It does not have the ANT. IN/Out connections a regualer VCR usually has. This device is manufactured to be used with newer TV sets; not the old ones without the three pronged cord hookups. However, now that I have it hooked up to an older TV, it plays my VCR cassette and DVD disks well. I'm now using this unit to reorganize my VCR recordings onto DVD format. "Nice"!
